The Mohajer-6 is Iran's most capable indigenous medium-altitude UAS, produced by Qods Aviation Industries under the IRGC Aerospace Force. A twin-boom pusher design with a 10-meter wingspan, it represents a major advance over earlier Mohajer variants with integrated electro-optical and infrared sensors, laser designator, and the ability to carry up to two Qaem precision-guided munitions or Almas anti-tank missiles. Its operational ceiling of approximately 18,000 feet and endurance of 12 hours make it suitable for persistent ISR and light strike over contested territory.
Iran has supplied Mohajer-6s to Russia for use in Ukraine, where they have been employed primarily for artillery spotting and battlefield reconnaissance along the front lines. The platform has also been documented in use by IRGC-affiliated forces in Syria and Iraq. Unlike the Shahed-136, which is a one-way weapon, the Mohajer-6 is a recoverable ISR/strike platform, making it a more strategically valuable and reusable asset. Its combination of optical targeting and precision munitions gives Iranian proxy forces a standoff precision-strike capability that was previously unavailable to non-state actors.
