Hermes 900

The Hermes 900 is Elbit Systems' flagship medium-altitude long-endurance UAS, designed to provide persistent ISR and optionally-armed capability for the Israeli Air Force and international customers. Entering IDF service in 2012, it features a pusher-propeller turboprop configuration, a payload bay of up to 350 kg accommodating multi-intelligence sensor suites, and a flight endurance exceeding 36 hours. The aircraft's advanced mission systems include a multi-spectral electro-optical sensor, synthetic aperture radar (SAR), SIGINT collection, and maritime patrol radar, making it one of the most sensor-rich MALE platforms in service.

The Hermes 900 has seen extensive combat deployment over Gaza, where it provides persistent surveillance of the urban environment and target cueing for strike assets. An optionally-armed variant integrates guided munitions including the MPR-500 and smaller precision weapons for direct strike. Export customers include Switzerland, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Azerbaijan — the last of which used Hermes 900s and Israeli Harop munitions in the decisive 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh war alongside Turkish TB2s.
